In 2014, MHS Student Government paired up with a recent graduate of Miamisburg High School and started a mission to raise awareness for the prevention of child abuse and to reach out to victims of child abuse by showing them how to persevere.
Over the years, MHS Student Government has hosted many events to raise awareness for child abuse prevention and has raised funds to donate to CARE House of Dayton. After the first 5k event, we were surprised by how many people in the school system as well as the community of Miamisburg we were able to reach and bring awareness to this cause. Over the years, we have seen more students come forward with their own stories as well as teachers, coaches, counselors, and community members who used the information we were putting out on preventing child abuse to help those in need. We want to continue to give back to these organizations so that they can have the resources to help take care of other victims of child abuse and provide them with the support they need.
