Stone Lab

Students in Mr. Lovin's AP Environmental Science classes took a trip to Stone Lab. Students had an opportunity to do the following:

  • Participate in citizen science by recording abiotic (dissolved oxygen levels) and biotic (phytoplankton, zooplankton, and fish identification) measurements of the Western basin of Lake Erie

  • Identify bioindicators to determine Lake Erie Water Quality

  • Participate in student-centered activities discussing the issue of cultural eutrophication and determining mitigation strategies for cultural eutrophication

  • Learn about invasive species threatening Lake Erie ecology

Mr. Lovin plans this trip for his students every year to give them REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCES and opportunities to APPLY THEIR LEARNING. #ConstantlyGrowing
