Students in Mr. Lovin's AP Environmental Science classes took a trip to Stone Lab. Students had an opportunity to do the following:
Participate in citizen science by recording abiotic (dissolved oxygen levels) and biotic (phytoplankton, zooplankton, and fish identification) measurements of the Western basin of Lake Erie
Identify bioindicators to determine Lake Erie Water Quality
Participate in student-centered activities discussing the issue of cultural eutrophication and determining mitigation strategies for cultural eutrophication
Learn about invasive species threatening Lake Erie ecology
Mr. Lovin plans this trip for his students every year to give them REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCES and opportunities to APPLY THEIR LEARNING. #ConstantlyGrowing
