At their March 16 meeting, the Miamisburg City School District Board of Education approved a revised 2023-2024 school year calendar. The revisions were made as a result of recommendations from the District Calendar Committee.
Two non-student days were added at the beginning of the school year. These days were added to provide Miamisburg staff with concentrated time to prepare for the school year and for each building to focus on their beginning-of-the-year activities while making sure to allocate ample time for professional development and/or collaboration.
On election days, Miamisburg High School serves as a local polling station. Therefore, students will not be present in the High School for classes on those days.
On November 7, 2023, all PreK-12 students will have a Personalized Learning Day. The Student Ownership Strategic Planning Committee will create a Choice Board for students, with activities they can choose to complete that day. This program offers students a unique chance to enrich their education and gain real-world experience through hands-on, practical opportunities that extend beyond the boundaries of the classroom. Teachers will report for a Professional Development Day.
On May 7, 2024, grades PreK-8 will attend school as usual. Students in grades 9-12 will have a remote learning day, meeting with their teachers virtually and following their normal daily classroom schedule.
The district is confident that these revisions will benefit our students and staff. The revised calendar can be found on, and printed from, the district’s website.
