Director of Business Operations is Scott Gilbert. In concert with his team of talented professionals, Mr. Gilbert oversees the day-to-day operations of the Miamisburg City School District in the areas of purchasing, contracts and agreements, construction services, transportation, maintenance, food service and district building operations. The department is also responsible for scheduling building facilities used by community groups. The Athletic Department is responsible for scheduling use of wood floor gymnasiums and outdoor athletic facilities.
The District participates in a shared service purchasing consortium, the Southwestern Ohio Educational Purchasing Council (EPC), which was formed in 1968. This Council serves as a purchasing cooperative, which services approximately 126 school districts in 18 counties, which competitively bids contracts for various products and services. The combined purchasing power of these districts enables for districts to purchase, based on competitively bid contracts, supplies and services. The EPC is a member of a state wide purchasing consortium, OCEPC, which includes nine other cooperatives. The OCEPC provides all 126 districts, who are participating members of the Southwestern Ohio Educational Purchasing Council, the opportunity for additional contract savings by also being a member of the Association of Educational Purchasing Agencies (AEPA).
Transportation
The district operates a fleet of 55 buses which, on average, transports approximately 3,500 students daily to and from Miamisburg school buildings, extra-curricular events and private and parochial schools. The fleet of buses travel
approximately 650,000 miles each year. For additional information about Transportation, including bus routes, review the Transportation link on the district website.
